HOW WAKING UP EARLY CAN CHANGE OUR LIVES (AND THE SCIENCE BEHIND IT)
Benefits of Waking up Early
According to the science of the human body, the time from 6 am to 10 am and from 6 pm to 10 pm is known to be the Kapha phase. This phase of the day is characterized by lethargy and heaviness. Sleeping in these hours and waking up after 6 am will imply fighting off the Kapha sensations that will manifest completely as the time wears on. Due to this reason, you feel very lethargic while waking up after 6 am. The heaviness is due to the energy of earth and water which dominates the five elements during this time phase. So, it’s always recommended to wake up before 6 am. The best waking time is the “Brahma Muhurta” which is approximately 90 minutes before the sunrise (i.e. 4 am or 4:30 am). This will not only help you align with the natural rhythm of your body but also make you more receptive to the positive energy of the cosmos.
The Importance of Brahma Muhurta
Considering night as the time period between sunset and sunrise, its last quarter is known as the Brahma Muhurta which lies somewhere between 3:30 to 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. It’s basically the time just before the sunrise.
Inspiration, hope and peace manifest in the cosmos at this time. The time is best for meditation, attaining eternal happiness, planning your important projects, pondering over ideas for your ventures and developing an impressive personality by reading books. It is also the time of attaining BrahmGyan. During this time, the environment is calm, pure and soothing, and the mind also feels fresh after sleep. Those who are fighting depression can constructively involve themselves during this time. This will shift their thoughts, help them feel elevated and develop a magnetic personality.
The concentration of Udhana Vayu is high during these hours which elevates the life energy. There is a natural production of Melatonin, the mood stabilising hormone that secrets from the pineal gland. You can make good use of this as the pineal gland is functioning at its best during Brahma Muhurta, which aids you to stabilize. Melatonin is also known to be a mood and hormone stabiliser in modern medicine.
